Core Privacy Commitment

At Shrinkify (operated at shrinkify.dev), we treat data privacy as a fundamental architectural pillar, not an afterthought. When you use our website, web image compressor, WordPress plugin, or developer APIs, your media files are processed with extreme discretion and strict ephemeral handling.

Our Fundamental Rule: We do not monetize your data. We charge transparent subscription fees for software and cloud computing power, never for advertising or media harvesting.

Information We Process

We divide data into two distinct categories to keep them strictly isolated:

Ephemeral Media Files

Images (PNG, JPG, WebP, AVIF) submitted via web dropzone or API. Transferred exclusively for compression and immediately marked for automated deletion.

Account & Usage Metadata

Your email address, generated API key, hashed password, subscription status, and bandwidth metrics (total bytes optimized) for billing accuracy.

* Note: We never extract or store personal metadata (EXIF GPS coordinates, camera serials, or copyright tags) from your photos. In fact, our optimization engine strips non-essential EXIF metadata to minimize file weight.

How We Use Information

We strictly utilize information for the following explicit purposes:

  • Image Transformation: Executing lossless or perceptual compression routines using libvips / Sharp engines.
  • WordPress Synchronization: Validating your API key when your WordPress dashboard makes remote optimization requests.
  • Rate Limiting & Security: Enforcing guest quotas and preventing denial-of-service attempts.
  • Invoicing & Receipts: Generating standard billing records via PayPal or approved merchant gateways.

Storage & Cache Purging

We operate under a strict Zero-Permanent-Storage policy for media content:

Automated Cache Deletion Routine1 Hour Max

When you process files on our web app, the resulting compressed images and ZIP archives are stored temporarily solely so you can download them. An automated background cleaner deletes files that exceed 60 minutes.

For WordPress plugin API requests, processed image streams are returned directly to your WordPress media library, and temporary memory buffers are freed immediately.

Zero AI Training Guarantee

Many modern cloud utilities secretly train generative AI models on uploaded user content. Shrinkify does not.

Your creative photography, product imagery, vector graphics, and brand trademarks are never indexed, analyzed, or included in any dataset or artificial intelligence training pipeline.

Data Security & Encryption

We deploy standard security measures to protect your connection:

  • TLS / HTTPS Encryption: All traffic between your browser or server and Shrinkify is encrypted in transit.
  • Secure Hashing: Passwords are protected using robust bcrypt salted hashes.
  • Isolated Sandboxes: Image conversions run in sandboxed processes preventing arbitrary script execution.
